Accountability

Performance tracked in R-multiples

One R is the amount risked on a plan, so every outcome — a win, a loss, a scratch, or a setup that never triggered — lands on the same scale and stays on the record. The method is on this page; the plans behind it are in the journal.

Demo data

Risk warning. High-risk warning: Trading and leveraged products carry a high risk of losing money rapidly. The content here is educational, never a personal recommendation. Only risk capital you can afford to lose.

Illustrative demo data. Figures below are sample journal entries used to show how transparent tracking works — not a record of live trading results.

Two demo datasets sit on this page and they are deliberately kept apart: the totals for the trade plans published in full in the journal, and a longer month-by-month ledger showing the shape a record takes over time. Merging them would invent a history that neither one has.

Scope 1 · the journal

Totals for the published plans

These figures cover only the trade plans published in full on the signal journal, where the thesis, the levels, the management and the review behind every number can be read end to end.

Net R
plus 5.5 R
Sum of every closed outcome, wins and losses together.
Avg planned R:R
2.5R
Reward against risk as written at entry, never as realised.
Win rate
60%
Wins ÷ (wins + losses). Open, breakeven and cancelled plans are excluded.
Max drawdown
minus 1.0 R
Deepest peak-to-trough fall in cumulative R.
Worst losing run
1
Longest sequence of consecutive losses.
Plans logged
8
Every entry, including 1 plan still open and not yet in Net R.
Wins
3
Closed at a target that was written down before entry.
Losses
2
Stopped out at the planned invalidation, for the planned loss.
Breakeven
1
Closed at entry for neither a gain nor a loss.
Cancelled
1
Planned and published, but the trigger never formed.

5 decided plans is a sample, not a track record — far too few to separate a sound process from a lucky one, which is why these tiles are published with the arithmetic attached rather than on their own. Every one of them is a written plan you can open and read in the signal journal.

Scope 2 · the 4-month ledger

What a longer record looks like

A separate and much larger demo ledger, kept so the shape of a record over time is visible: a losing month sitting inside it, and a drawdown you would have had to hold through. Its totals are bigger than the journal's above because it covers far more plans.

How we measure

How every figure here is calculated

The same arithmetic every time, stated before the numbers rather than after them, so what gets judged is the process.

What each number means

R-multiple
One R is the amount risked on a plan. A result of +3R returned three times that risk, which keeps a gold trade and an index trade comparable regardless of account size or lot size.
Net R
The running sum of every closed outcome. A few large losses can outweigh many small wins, which is the point — it is a teaching metric, not a sales metric.
Win rate
Wins divided by wins plus losses. Open, breakeven and cancelled plans are reported on their own tiles instead of being folded in, because folding them in only ever moves the percentage one way.
Max drawdown
The deepest peak-to-trough fall in cumulative R. It is the number that describes what holding the method actually felt like, which no average can.

What stays on the record

Every plan is counted
Wins, losses, breakevens and cancelled setups all stay logged. Nothing is removed once the outcome is known.
Cancelled plans count too
A setup whose confirmation never formed is still a decision, so it is recorded in full. Choosing not to trade is part of what is being measured.
Planned R:R is never mixed with realised R
Planned R:R describes the plan as written at entry. Net R describes what happened afterwards. They sit on separate tiles and are never blended into one headline.
Nothing here is forward-looking
These figures are demo data used to illustrate the journalling method. They are not a track record and carry no profit guarantee. Past performance — real or illustrative — does not predict future results.

Read the tiles together, never one alone

A 55% win rate on 1:1 plans and a 35% win rate on 3:1 plans are different businesses. What separates them is expectancy — the average R per plan — and that is what Net R accumulates. Win rate tells you how often the read was right, not whether the process was worth running; drawdown tells you what running it cost along the way. Position sizing, R-multiples and expectancy are worked through step by step in the risk management course, and complete entries are taken apart line by line in signal breakdowns.

The same demo ledger both charts plot, written out in full with its totals, so every headline figure above can be checked against the rows it came from.

Read the plans behind the numbers

Every figure on this page traces back to a written trade plan you can open — thesis, levels, management and the review afterwards.
